You could make the PS3 controller work with a PC just needed to install the drivers along with setup the controller.
Sony are unlikely to release the PS4 controller drivers for PC may see something we don't know yet.

eventually it will yes, but i doubt anytime soon after release

I use MotionJoy for my PS3 controller on PC. I would assume eventually MotionJoy would grab the drivers and update their program for a PS4 controller.
