Sony will be holding their Gamescom conference very soon which should be the time they announce the official release date of the PS4. This could be the official release date since it's accurate and possible for Sony to do this. Of course, NGU will keep you guys updated with all the up-to-date information we can find

The 21st? Holy shit. I thought by Holiday 2013 they would mean Christmas time. Guess I'll be getting a PS4 instead of candy this year for Halloween.

sony's on information lock down listing a bundle as a unnamed sony console launch shouldn't surprise anyone as retailers and people have been quick to release any info surrounding the ps4 release date

there probly not going to tell the ps4 release date till probably like a week b4 they release it. bet there just leaking wrong info to retailers to try to mess mircsoft up.

Well that was definitely sooner than expected, I just have this feeling in my gut that it might be a new Vita model. That would really piss me off if that turns out to be the case. Let's just hope that Sony will confirm this and people will be getting PS4s and not candy for Halloween. :p

Here is the latest 'launch' rumor regarding Sony's PlayStation 4 console, and this one puts it up to as early as Oct. 21st, which places in stores for sale, a month before Black Friday, which is big long buying weekend that originally the XB1 was rumored to launch on, but now recent rumors puts the XB1 launch as late as Nov. 5th so that it launches next to Co Ghosts for the XB1.

Disclaimer: I just work at a very large retailer, managing the electronics sales force and nothing more. I have nothing to do with purchasing, nation wide merchandising or shipping. It's that just yesterday we received a product release schedule from our head office and I thought this is OT itt. These schedules btw, are for internal use only, designed to allow us time to create our instore merch plans. If the launch date for a product is unknown, it's simply marked TBA. The only time a date is ever included is when we have received confirmation of said date from the product company."
Of course this rumor comes with the NeoGAF forums which has been known in the past for some real horrible bullshit, but they also been the source of some solid rumors that became true and the admins over at NeoGAF claim that this poster's account is legit and real, well whatever the case, at least this new 'launch rumor' is much better then the previous Toys-R-Us one that placed the PS4 not to launch until mid-December long after the XB1 was available for sale, but now if this one is true, looks like Sony will be ahead of Microsoft.
