The latest of these asked whether buying a game using your smartphone would require the PS4 to be on in order to instantly download the game, which he replied to explaining that the PS4 will turn itself on:

Neat. Sounds like PlayTV’s recording features mixed with the PS3 auto-off. It’s going to be great buying a game while I’m out, heading back home later on and having it ready to play, without worrying about my PS4 being on all day.
Hopefully there will be more things that use this feature, like trophy syncing at the users given time and patches/updates etc.

Only one problem I can see with this, I'm guessing your ps4 must have a constant and active Internet connection to download the games etc, like me I don't have a constant connection coz when my parents go to bed they turn my router off, so this won't help people who don't have a active connection

But if your parents only turn your router off when they go to bed during the day there shouldn't be a problem right!?

and must be on at the plug for starters, if its not in stand by its not going to turn the plug on itself
