This looks new ^^

Sony have just surprised us all by revealing PlayStation Vita TV, a 6cm by 10cm (tiny) device which allows you to watch video and network services or even play Vita and PSP games on your TV, controlled by a DualShock 3.

It appears to be a small console which is powered by the same stuff as the Vita, and includes an HDMI port for hooking up to your TV. There’ll be 1300 titles available.

The system also works as a companion device, which allows you to play PS4 games in another room without the need for a second console. That’s amazing.

It’ll be available in Japan on November 14th and will cost 9,945 yen or 14,994 yen with tax for a bundle including a controller and an 8GB memory card.

So, that’s about £70 for a device that allows you to play Vita games on your TV, or PS4 games in another room, as well as a plethora of TV and video content.

Few extra details from sony:

  • There will be a system software update to patch in DualShock 4 support.
  • It can connect to other PS Vitas via ad hoc mode.
  • Two DualShock 3 controllers can be paired to the system, allowing for playing PS1 titles.
  • PS Vita can be used as a controller for some Wii U like functionality.
  • Will support “nasne”, a networked recorder and media storage device.

Well this looks nice and promising! Will save people a bit of money if they was going to buy another ps4 for another room, you could just buy this!

Things are looking even better for the future of PlayStation and better yet the PlayStation 4 itself!

I've read that it will be $99 in the US so its safe to assume it'll be £99 for the UK/Europe.

Thoughts?

Error… Cat invasion!
Well damn, this is looking very promising already, especially if i'll be able to play my ps4 games in another room while my ps4 gets hooked up in the living room. :y:

That certainly will be a nice feature but what im really interested in is actually playing my Vita games on the big screen while using my Vita as a controller for a Wii-U like experience, even be able to play my japanese imports & psp games using a dual shock 3 & even dual shock 4!? sounds sweet!

And the price sounds cheap, but then again the Vita hardware thats incorporated into it isnt exactly brand spanking new so its actually just right, just put in a 32GB card & i'll be set. Dancing

I wonder if GameStop will have preorders since it is technically a gaming device.

That allows you to play ONE PS4 on TWO different TVs at the SAME time?

So it'll be like a second PS4? Watdafuq? Serious?

more then likely on one at a time, it'll probably be remote playing the whole console in another room.
