(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The PS4 won’t be out in Japan until February 22nd, a good few months after the November 15th and 29th dates for the U.S. and UK respectively.

The reasoning for this is to make a good selection of titles available, rather than the release being quite barren. It’ll also release with a downloadable copy of Knack, and a one year extended warranty.

I expect that this was their plan for all countries all along, before they moved the Western release date to compete directly with the Xbox One.

The price will be 41,979 yen, or 46,179 yen with a camera included, which seems a bit cheaper than the UK price point, but that’s because of import taxes and such.

I guess the wait doesn't seem so long now after all! i feel for them though, thats such a long wait!

i suppose theres hardly a threat from microsoft in that region so they dont need to rush it out, if they want it so bad they would import it anyways xD

Minor delay in the scale of things, the reason this was done is due to the EU/US being far more of a profit maker. EU/US markets buy more games compared to Japan I believe. Japan still buys a ton for a tiny nation.
Nice launch lineup for the Asian market hope they release in other Asian markets during that time.
Something tells me this was done due to supply over software to realize it's potential sales.

this is exactly what i was thinking. not to mention the US is dominated by Xbox owners and they really want a larger portion of that market. Xbox is doing the same thing is the UK, and their launch is limited to only like 13 nations i think, basically im thinking its a supply issue for both Xbox and PlayStation.
