you do realize he ordered after the pre order day one guaranteed cut off date that's why he's wondering
Sony has confirmed that any PS4 pre-orders made after August 6 will not receive the console until after launch.
“Please note that Sony have confirmed all PlayStation 4 pre-orders placed from August 6 will now not be guaranteed for launch,” reads the ShopTo disclaimer. “You can still pre-order PS4 with us in case we receive cancellations and can fulfil your order for launch.”

They held back stock so you might get lucky and see it a few days after launch

I pre-ordered the PS4 Dualshock bundle which guaranteed launch day delivery, so that statement is no longer true.
