(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Sony has revealed that the PlayStation 4's Remote Play functionality may only work inside your house.

A massive Q&A explains that while you'll be able to take PS4 games and play them on your Vita without issue when you're at home, trying to do the same further afield may result in issues.

"We strongly recommend that Remote Play be used within the same WiFi network where PS4 is connected," Sony explained, while confirming that Remote Play wouldn't be available via 3G. "We also recommend that PS4 be connected to the local area network via an Ethernet cable, that a router suitable for gaming be used, and that the PS Vita system be within close proximity of the WiFi access point so that the connection is free of interference."

While you can still attempt using the feature elsewhere, success is by no means guaranteed. "For Remote Play to function over a wide area network, a robust and stable WiFi connection and broadband Internet connection is required, and the local area network where PS4 is connected must be configured to permit the PS Vita system to access PS4," it reads.

When it was first announced, Sony's Shuhei Yoshida told us that he wanted as many PS4 titles as possible to make use of Remote Play. The Q&A makes it sound like this is still the plan, explaining "most PS4 titles will support Remote Play unless the title requires a special peripheral like PlayStation Camera."

They didn't say you couldn't, they just said it would require a decently fast net connection is what I gathered from that.

exactly the remote function will act as a streaming type service, if any of you use your PC as a media server on PS3 you know over WiFi it will get choppy playing a movie that's big in size. Same concept here you need to have a local connection internet isn't quite there yet..

Ah so I was right in my thinking would need to be wired along with using N grade wifi to get the best result. You could do this over 3G but data costs mixed with speed issues.
Had a feeling they would do this because the same idea is used on PC for local streaming.

Could if sworn it was confirmed anywhere via a wifi connection, you just got to make sure your ps3 is connected and your internet is on. I also read that it's best having a wired connection on the ps3 incase of wireless interference and low signal
