We've all heard them. The peasants make the same arguments and state the same myths over and over again, and it gets so repetitive that it just becomes pointless to try and reason with them. So, I've decided to make a post dedicated to compiling a list of the most common arguments we hear that peasants make against the glorious master race and, with the help of the rest of my brethren, address them one by one in the hopes that a simple link to this thread can be used to shine the light of gospel truth onto the darkness that consumes the peasants. If I miss anything crucial, by all means say so and I'll edit it in.
Peasants, I hope you find this post educational and don't take it personally when we call you peasants. You, too, can ascend from darkness and become part of the glorious PC gaming master race. Before you start saying why you can't or won't, please continue reading.

Peasant: PC is too expensive! You have to pay $2,000 for a computer good enough to run the most intense games!

Master Race: We of the master race hear this all too often, and for some reason the mythical $2,000 number is the most common. This is, of course, not even remotely true. You could build a $2,000 gaming PC and it would be a beast, but it's not at all necessary to get quality gaming experience from a PC. A system built with today's parts for less than $800 is capable of running the most graphically demanding games fluently, at over 60 FPS, in 1080p, at maxed or roughly maxed out settings.
Here are some example hardware lists for a potential cheap gaming PC that will go a long way:

$750: You must login or register to view this content.
$630: You must login or register to view this content.

Here are two more lists similar to the $630 one above but significantly cheaper:

$560: You must login or register to view this content.
$460: You must login or register to view this content.

If you factor in the cost of a console, the subscription fee, the lack of good deals on games, the fact that you can do more on a PC than just games, Steam sales and Humble Bundle's on PC, and the overall bad quality consoles have compared to PCs; the consoles just begin to look less and less cost-effective.
Peasant: Consoles have exclusives! What do PCs have?
Master Race: As it so happens, PCs have many exclusives and probably more exclusives than every console has ever had combined. For instance, every strategy game in existence. Starcraft, Warcraft, League of Legends, Dota, Supreme Commander, Civilization, so many more to name. One of our brethren has given us a fine image illustrating how the master race is far superior in this matter.

You must login or register to view this content.

Not only that, but PC games also often have exclusive features like mods. Just go on Steam and browse through the vast collection of mods for Skyrim, especially the graphical mods which enhance the way the game looks. PC is also compatible with older games. Do you still like playing Call of Duty 4 or Modern Warfare 2? Good luck playing that on the new consoles. I'm still able to play those at full 1080p on my PC. Not only that, but thanks to emulator software I am also able to play old games from older consoles like the NES on my PC as well. Due to the limitations of consoles (more on that later); mods, compatibility with older games, and emulators are things that consoles will almost certainly never have.

Peasant: It's not the amount of exclusives that matters or how good the grafix are! It's about the quality of gameplay!
Consoles focus on quality gameplay!

Master Race: You mean like the latest Killzone for the Playstation 4? I've heard of it. A lot of people aren't too happy with it. Besides, most of the games that consoles have the PC also has, just with better graphics and often times more gameplay elements in the environment since the hardware can handle it.
Peasant: I still want to play Halo, Titanfall, Destiny, and Shadowfall!
Master Race: Titanfall is actually for PC as well. As for those other exclusives, why do you think consoles have those exclusives? Let me tell you, the developers for those games could come out with PC versions just as easily for any other game. They don't develop those games exclusively for the PS4 and/or XBone because somehow only those systems have qualities that those games need in order to run and to be played properly. Console exclusives are made because publishers have made lucrative business deals with Microsoft or Sony in order to create an artificial incentive for you to buy their console. PC exclusives, on the other hand, are made because PC actually does have qualities that consoles don't have which are needed in order to run and to be played properly. Why do you think there are no strategy games for consoles? It's because you can't play Starcraft or League of Legends on a rumblepad. Then there is Star Citizen, which is a PC exclusive because even the "next-gen" consoles simply don't have the power to run such a game. Chris Roberts, the man behind Star Citizen, said this:
Star Citizen will never be dumbed down for a lesser platform. We will not limit the input options or supported peripherals to the lowest common denominator. We will not pass on features and technology just because they will only run on some hardware configurations.
Then there are gamechangers (no pun intended) like the Oculus Rift which will probably never make it to the "next-gen" consoles. Oculus co-founder Palmer Luckey said that even the PS4 and XBone are "too limited for what we want to do."

Peasant: Perhaps it is time to ascend, but building my own PC isn't my cup of tea. How do I get started?

Master Race: If you are uncomfortable with learning how to build your own system, then there are plenty of resources on the Internet to help you out. The people over at r/buildapc can be a big help. If you still don't want to build your own system, then websites like Newegg have plenty of pre-built options and people at r/buildmeapc will build one for you.

Cake is a lie
I respect PC players and I'm pretty sure most people know PC games are always more powerful however people that play consoles primarily or even exclusively don't really care....

Every video or article about how a game looks or plays usually has "That Guy" who feels the need to mention how that level of detail was on PC 3 years ago. Consoles are more convenient, more of our friends play it and honestly more social.

PC gamers seem as if there are barely anyone playing so they got to get the word out or something. I look at them the same way I look at over the top Mac product fans. Usually unprovoked yet feel the need to let you know how much better their product is, how much more reliable and that no matter how new and shiny your non Mac product is, Mac is still better.

Console fanboys can be annoying but I get it, people seem to have a natural inclination to want to pick sides on things and "root" for something. PC fanboys are even more annoying because they always feel it's necessary to volunteer how much better PC is and how any next gen console is old PC tech as if anyone ever says, "My PS4 is so much better than a PC". People like myself like to have a console setup to their main TV to game and maybe watch occasional Blu Ray.

As a gamer I already occasionally have to defend my gaming to women but I damn sure ain't about to tell her how I built some masterful gaming PC with the latest graphics card and water ventilation.

I get you didn't write this but any PC gamers out there, most of us know PC is always the best but we don't care or feel the investment is worth it. I just game on my current PC with it's 2 year old graphics card when I want to play some COD4 or modded GTA San Andreas and that works just fine for me.

Yeah, they totally don't care. That's why there are PeasantStation fans rushing to buy an $800 console?? Yeah they really don't care.
I personally believe that PC's are at that level of convenience where MOST of the time you can turn it on and play, granted there are situations where this does not happen but it's not like its incredibly often. To say that consoles are more social would be a fallacy, remember that part about it being a 'pc'? Yeah, although all of your friends may not all own a gaming pc, that's kind of the point of this article. i didn't feel obligated to 'get the word out', i just found this article interesting.

And i see the point you are trying to make with the mac analogy but then again that doesn't work because mac users have no basis behind their argument on why mac is better. Really reminds me of a talk i had with my cousin, he's a mac fanboy but really doesn't know anything about computers in general, he just 'chooses' to like mac. I told him that was illogical and he agreed? lol wow, but i digress.

Honestly when i read something compellingly truthfull i feel the need to share it which is how i felt about this article, not that i wanted to take over ngu and make all these peasants into masters, just thought it was humorous and maybe save some people a couple thousand bucks.

You missed the obviously Myth: Console gamers care about how powerful PC gaming is.

When I say social I mean for instance last night me and my friends watched the Pacquaio vs Rios fight then after we all had our PS4 controllers and played 2 v 2 Fifa 14 and it was a drunken good time.

So when I say social I mean interactions in person and not just online. Having Guitar Hero parties, or on holidays family playing Wii Fitness or using a Kinect for Dance parties.

I can't have friends over and say, "hey come check out my custom built PC with the latest graphics card". Easier to say hey, let's play PS4 or Xbox One.

My Mac analogy had to do with the fact that Macs are overall better computers than normal Windows based PC. They are more durable, have less virus issues, are amazing with video and audio but they also cost more and aren't as convenient or cost effective as a PC thus Mac people always feel the need to try and explain why Mac is better.

So back to your PC gaming analogy, PC gaming always intrigued me and I wanted to make custom PC because an old roommate was big on that stuff but he also had Xbox 360 and wasn't a douche and almost like a cult member trying to get me to join.

It wasn't until I was reading up on PS4 and Xbox One in the spring of this year when I noticed in every video comment section or blog there was always, "that guy" who just felt the need to say something about how the tech on the new consoles he has on his PC or why us fools will spend $400+ for a new console he can just upgrade his graphics card and it just came off as snarky and douchey.

Not sure why you inflated the price to $800 but doesn't matter. Like I said earlier most of us know that PCs are more powerful and you can get games cheaper(or let's be honest the biggest selling point is pirating games for free) and the resolution is better.

But I LIKE MOST DON'T GIVE A FUCK AND ENJOY PS4 AND XBOX ONE. Don't worry console gamers aren't like some lost souls waiting for someone to come tell us about the gospel of PC. I have my PS4 setup in my living room to entertain and game. My laptop is for internet, porn, blogging and old N64 and Dreamcast emulation. I don't really care how much better PC is since most of my friends and most people I come in contact with game on consoles. I don't think AAA console games have more players playing purely because we are too stupid to know the power of PC, we just don't think that power is warranted.

PS4 made a big deal of 1080p gaming and I know PC can do 4K but it's ok bro. I'm just fine being a console peasant... Maybe knock on my neighbors door and see if he wants to hear about the gospel of PC lmao.

I lol'd i love topics like this, i for one couldn't care less if someone likes a pc more than a console! Good for them Happy its almost like theyre trying to get people to go to pc as if they need to up the player count.

Consoles are much more convenient, i for one wouldnt want to spend out loads and then 2 years down the line i cant even play the new games coming out, i could sell the hardware but who'd want that , it'd be consider junk. Who would i even sell it to..

Nope. Definately not for me.
