Sony has stated that pricing of digital content will be adjusted ahead of the PlayStation 4's release in the UK this Friday.
Earlier in the week IGN reported that digitally downloadable copies of launch titles were more expensive on PSN. In particular, EA were put in the spotlight with its five launch titles originally being listed at £62.99 – a full £8 more expensive than the equivalent Xbox One game.
In a statement issued to Eurogamer, Sony said, “Although PS4 launches in Europe on the 29th November, we have switched on the European PSN early to test and make sure that features and functionality are fully operational for launch.
“However, as PS4 and PSN have not yet officially launched in this region, nothing on the PSN is final, including pricing on the store. You will continue to see some prices adjusted over the next few days in preparation for launch on Friday.”
The pricing of EA games has already decreased since the original listing, with its games now sitting at £59.99 (still £5 more expensive than Xbox One).
