A Valve engineer has created two new controllers, one operated with your tongue, the other using your posterior.
Ben Krasnow developed both devices, though we're not quite sure why. Perhaps he was hoping they'd be picked up instead of the Steam Controller? Regardless, for better or worse, these things now exist so we'd better just accept it.
The tongue controller makes use of optical mouse hardware, placed in a brace-retainer that you pop in your mouth. No matter how flexible your tongue is though, you're unlikely to be able to use this in place of a normal mouse. It can still be used for more general movements though, such as swipe-interfaces and carousel menus.
The bum controller, meanwhile, takes a set of ordinary bathroom scales, redesigned to allow you to turn a character right or left when sat on. It sort of stops working when you turn more than 180 degrees as at that stage you can't see the screen any more...but hey! Buy a second screen and put it behind you! Problem solved.
In all seriousness, while it may sound bizarre, if these devices ever enter mass production they could be hugely beneficial to anyone suffering from physical disabilities that don't allow them the full use of their limbs.

I figured the next step would be virtual reality. I think once we open the world of that, it'll open new platforms like robots, etc. that movie with Bruce Willis where they use avatars in an everyday daily life? We're coming to that point. I expect to see that in my lifetime.
Like tablets. In all the movies you see those flat clear computers and phones. Tablets can't get much smaller without crossing into that technology. It's coming.
