Hey all,
Okay so brand new PS4, and a quick caution and query for you guys.
After first setting up my PS4 in its horizontal position, I installed (rather quickly) KZ:Shadowfall and started playing. After an hour or so i took a break made dinner etc, and ejected the disc/put it away.
Before coming back to it, I thought I'd hide the wires away properly and see if it looks better standing vertical next to my TV (which it does).
So I went to play again putting the disc back in the now vertical PS4... And it went downhill from there. At first the disc didn't seem to read, it just made a strange clicking noise. Ejected to check, and it was fine. Then it wouldn't let me put the disc back in, it was like something was already in there. After 20 mins of fiddling I managed to get it to take the disc again (without brute forcing it in).
Still it wouldn't read the disc though, 1 problem solved, 1 to go. I tried the BF4 disc, same issue.
To cut a long story short, just before going for a replacement, the only way I could fix it, was without the disc in, I gave the console a gentle (but firm) shake... And all of a sudden, everything worked fine again.
Now I've not tried it vertical again yet, but in horizontal it works fine, and has played 10 hours+.
Anyone else had this, is it still worth returning it for a new one?
Since the PlayStation 4 is still a new system there are some bug's, to be expected.
I have read on Reddit as well as IGN that putting the PlayStation 4 vertical is worse than horizontal.
Sony have spoken out about this and researching for a fix it may just be minor.
Here is a link to both sources if you would like to investigate for yourself.

In any case although your Playstation 4 is working now give it a trial run for a week see if it, happens again
then, like ''Lew'' said bring it back in under the warranty and get a replacement.
