I personally tried it out and found it hard to do at first but hey it worked!

When the keyboard is up,
Press R3 on your daulshock 4,
And you can easily move your controller around and press "x" to tap a letter.

Note:
To disable it; press any key on the d-pad.

When you think about it, its just like the wii messaging. I like it, it takes some getting used to but then it is much faster

I tried it, I liked it though it may not be as fast as actual typing I did like it.
