Having already resolved other issues Battlefield 4 suffers from on PlayStation 4, developer DICE is now turning to fans for help in determining exactly what causes the crashes that produce a particular error code.
Following the release of a patch for the PS4 version of the game this week (which was then followed by a similar update for the Xbox One version today), DICE has published a request for details from players encountering the "CE-34878-0 crash" error message.
"This is in fact a general error code that you can receive when the game has crashed for a number of different reasons that are not related," the post reads. "You can help us to identify these individual issues by providing a few details in the crash report (we read all of them.) For example what game mode you were playing and on what map you crashed. Doing this will help us a lot to reproduce the issues and investigate fixes for them in upcoming patches."
DICE has been working for weeks to resolve the many issues Battlefield 4 players have been experiencing on all platforms. Each version of the game has been updated already -- some numerous times -- but a number of problems remain. As a result, DICE announced earlier this month it was halting work on future projects, including Battlefield 4 DLC, in order to focus its efforts on fixing the game. It's also launched a bug tracker that provides details on the status on some of the game's more common and problematic bugs.
