I actually enjoyed this game. It was a good break from the games I normally play and I definitely plan to play it more in the future.

*skip to 5/6:00 to see the gear city as i call it ...
**i am currently right on day 40 now , will put another link later , perhaps ...

Just for the sake of a random FYI ,
One of the biggest tip's i can give you is ...

start a map ,
then copy the save to usb/cloud as soon as you start it ...
try to only "pickup" the loose items while filling out the map ,
if you do not find the pig farms the buffalo fields or the gear city's ,
within first 2/3 days then reload the save ...
and now just go another direction this time ,
the map will still be the same as it was on day 1 ,
thus meaning ...
everything will still be in the same place , since it's from the backup save !

So use that trick to explore the maps without just merely wasting days.
- was just rambling on , Enjoy !

Somewhat fun! I like it, but it pisses me off because it's so hard sometimes.. Any tips and how far have y'all gotten?

Don't stop moving until around days 12-20. Just keep on collecting and explore the map as much as possible so you'll know where everything is in the future. And when you do start to settle, settle near/in the pig village or whatever.
