Sony have announced plans for PlayStation Now today . This new service, which has been in development since Sony purchased Gaikai entertainment last year, is finally being shown this week at CES in Las Vegas. PlayStation Now will not only allow you to stream games to your PS4 and PS3 but also to smartphones, tablets and even supported televisions! Sony are already showing off this new technology at CES allowing visitor to try out The Last of Us on multiple devices.
Cloud gaming allows games to be streamed over a network to any sort of device. The game does not rely on the device's processing power. The game is being run on powerful servers around the world but then the picture is being streamed to the device, just like a YouTube video.
No one is sure about the price of this service, or whether it might just be free with PlayStation Plus, however Sony will be launching a closed beta later on this month in the United States to try out the new system in consumer's hands. They plan to roll out the service in the coming months.
Are you excited for PlayStation Now? Are you willing to pay an extra fee for this service?
