The PlayStation Network will be offline for scheduled maintenance on Monday 27 January between 5.30pm and 11.30pm GMT/UK time. It looks like a full shut down with the Store, account management and online gameplay all unaccessible during that time.

Well lets compare here.
Xbox Live hardly has no downtime compared to PSN and they pay around the same for a years subscription. We as paying customers shouldn't have to go through these maintenance periods and they should maybe take a hint out of Microsoft books and see what they can do to improve on it.
I wouldn't rather it have problems, I would just rather it have less if not close to zero maintenance (Unless absolutely necessary).

same, id rather it free if it carries on like this, it seems exactly the same as before anyways
