Hori games has announced they will be releasing their portable gaming monitor for the PS4. The monitor will be addressed as the “Liquid Crystal Monitor 4″ with the 4 presumably representing the "4" in Playstation 4. Once both Playstation 4 and monitor are connected with each other, it will resemble the common laptop, folding the screen either open or closed.
The Playstation 4 and the monitor will be connected with a single HDMI cord. The user will still have to connect the PS4 to an external power source because the monitor does not double as a portable battery. The monitor itself is capable of running at the maximum resolution of 1080p. From looking at the pictures, the whole product once fully functioning looks oddly clunky and enormous.
Hori, the designers and manufacturers of this product have also previously made similar products to compliment both the Playstation 3 and Playstation 2. Hori has become a known company to produce portable monitors for the Playstation brand so this news was to be expected sooner or later. The monitor will be released in Japan soon but there are no dates currently set for the rest of the market.
The monitor is set to be priced at 32,184 yen which is equivalent too $314 in the USA. This seems to be a bit expensive considering you can find Playstation 4 consoles starting at $350 and even lower if you buy refurbished or from a online source like Ebay. The monitor itself seems to only come in handy if you are gaming at home in a room with limited space as it becomes to bulky and clunky to carry it with you not to mention heavy.

Had a friend that had one for his ps2. As retarded as it seemed it was pretty nice to have around when we would do lans and someone wasn't able to bring a tv with them.

I hope it will hit US/EU markets soon, it will be great for when you want to play PS4 at your friend's house.
Looks pretty ugly to be honest, and honestly who would want to carry that everywhere? I would rather keep it on one place and play on a bigger TV/monitor.
