I used to be a mad PC gamer, now I don't even have one.
They have always been more expensive to build and upgrade, especially if you want to play on max settings (which is kinda the point of being a PC guy), I found I spent more time thinking about the hardware, and how to gets the best FPS out of my games, than actually playing and enjoying them.
The hardware you get in a console will never match a top end PC, but then games will never be as well optimised for PC either, and as in most comparisons now, there isn't any giant difference in graphics. The amount of aimbots and wall hacks back in MW2 days is what finally turned me away.
So in short, if you care more about tinkering and squeezing as many little improvements/FPS from your games (and don't mind missing out on some exclusives), go PC.
If you just want to plug and play, and enjoy the games, and play online easily in a largely cheat free environment, go console.
