Sony has announced that the next update, scheduled to release next week, will include 3D Blu-Ray support. This was announced shortly after Microsoft stated the same feature will be added to their Xbox One. Sony announced this feature on their official You must login or register to view this content.

The update will most likely bring PS4 ahead of the Xbox One as the update is coming next week, where as the update for Microsoft's console will be released sometime in August.

Many users have commented on this, and the majority believe that Sony should start adding more essential features that focus on gameplay, and bring the promised aspects of the PS4 when it was announced.

im so glad for 3d. i hate having to use my ps3 for 3d....

Thank god. I don't have to use my ps3 now. Finally can watch 3d movies in my room instead of in the living room!

3D is so over-rated seriously what % of gamers actually use it? if its higher than 1% I will be amazed!

I only see 3D fun to use if MAYBE you are on battlefield 4 but ONLY the story mode. That crap will kill my eyes after 5 minutes.

3D is shit anyway. It was better 10-15 years ago than it is now. #bringtheglasses3Dback
