Sony, the company behind the PS4, has revealed their financial report, showing a net income of 26.8 billion yen ($261 million). The financial report also revealed that the company sold 3.5 million combined PS4 and PS3 consoles. Comparing these facts to Microsoft reveals that the PS4+PS3 are outselling Xbox One + Xbox 360 at a 3:1 ratio.
Overall, Sony's gaming division showed a change for the better as they moved from a $164 million operating loss in Q1 last year to a profit of $43 million this year. While Sony did not report any specific sales for the PS4/PS3, the company does say that there was a slight decrease in PS3 sales year over year. With this information we can estimate PS4 sales at somewhere around the 2.4 million year over year increase, as well as a bit more to account for the decrease in PS3 sales.
