The firmware is now live. We’re downloading it in Europe. It’s around 245 MB in size. The update notes did not add anything we didn’t already know.

Original story: The next PS4 system software update is “coming soon”, Sony has announced.

Unfortunately it doesn’t add whatever exciting feature it is you’ve been nagging Sony for; firmware 2.57 is “a minor update that improves stability of some features”.

Aren’t you glad you have been informed of this fascinating development? At least you’ll know not to get excited when you hit the update screen next.
