(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I just purchased my PS4 about two weeks ago, I used it for four days no problem. On the fifth day I came home and attempted to turn the PS4 on, it beeped, flashed blue, then shut off. No matter what I tried this happened. So I contact Sony and they stated the power supply was bad and I needed to send it back. They told me they would send me a box to send it back in, I agreed. I went around and looked at the forums, a lot of people had tutorials on how to fix the Power Supply yourself (replacing it). But one guy stated "Just bash it on your knee and it might work again.". I did several times just for shit's and giggles. Plugged in it in and it worked, it's been working flawlessly for over a week now.

I still have the box they sent me. Would you send it back or would you wait to see if this ever happens again to file another service request? I just bought it, so I still have a one year factory warranty.

Glad it worked for you, but I wouldn't go and bang it on your knee. That's just thinking irrationally. Yeah... it worked, but what if you broke something else? Or something to permanently damage it? I'm not in any way trying to bash on you... It's just how I think.

So, to answer your question... I would send it back now. If it ever happens again after you get it repaired/replaced, contact Sony. Don't go beating the thing up. Enzo

Agreed with Slick. Hitting it could just damage it more and who knows, some companies won't replace/refund a device that's been damaged by user and not accident.
