If you know 100% that you never fail to get them... then why on earth would you make the buyer do the work?

Looks like you were wrong, you did fail, and since you promise to never fail, it means you are at fault.
This isn't about being one sided, its about looking at the evidence, and identifying an outcome, which in this situation leaves you at fault.
