now everytime i load up WaW while signed off its ok ,but the moment i sign on i freeze

so long story short, i can play offline but not online.

Alright, try deleting the game saves under "Save Data Utility". If you still get an error, go to "Game Data Utility" and find your World at War update, then click triangle and look at it's information, if it says anything other than version 1.07, then that's why. You will need a newer update to put your patches on.

If his update is under 1.07 he will be asked to update whether he is online or not. Also your Save Games have nothing to do with it as he is changing the .ff files and you can't mod save games anyway.

did you modify the patch after you downloaded from the internet or did you data transfer straight away??

Data transferred right away.
Weird thing is it seems to work randomly.
2days after i posted this i was able to sign on, then a couple days after it would freeze again.

He may have left patchblocker on. He may also have a corrpupt game save.

If your game save is corrupted then the game will tell you that.
Having patch blocker or will have nothing to do with it .

k, who's patch is it and did you have any trouble putting it onto the cfw ps3? you didnt accidently muck up any files did you?

It doesn't always tell you. He may have downloaded a save game from the internet and it may have been from a different region or something, it's happened to me before. Oh, and as for patchblocker, he may have proxy server on accidentally and he closed out of his patchblocker on his computer which is why he can't sign in.
