1. CREATE A BACKUP FOLDER AND PUT ORIGINALS FILES IN THERE
2. GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND
3. Get the save on the persons account or back to him ASAP
4. Know exactly what you are going to do be for you start messing with the save
5. Don't tell the person that you can do something you really cant do
6. Try not to go all out on gamerscore mods etc. so he has a better chance of not getting banned or his account reset

yes but if he doesnt then u just recover his gamertag

Yeah but if you recover his gamertag you cannot edit his saves , you can edit his profile though
