when you say flash you mean the dvd drive or the nand for jtag??

You dump a Nand and you flash a drive

read your nand and then write it
read your dvd firmware the write it
same thing basically. some would call both flashing

alright i know that i have a ben-q drive, and what im trying to do is make backups and have my xbox read them

jungle flasher has the necessary files to do this.

make sure you have a sata port on your motherboard in your computer or a pci sata card.

also make sure you can open your xbox and a torq 10 screw driver

when flashing make sure you save or write down the dvd key and original firmware. send to an email not associated on the computer incase computer dies or put onto a disc.
