If your console is banned, and you just want to get some money back for it, skip this part...
1) buy console off craigslist for less than$25(if broken) or $40(if banned)
1b) if console is RROD, try to send it back to MS, they will fix it and also give you something extra ( EG; One month/800 MSP )
And start here
2) bring console to gamestop, and inform them it is broken( if it is ), they'll tell you how much they will give you, or if it is banned just say you wanna trade in your console you barely use ( they dont test for online capabilities or if it is banned, so as long as it works, your good)3) get your $$! Broken is typically $25, and Regular trade ins (in this case, Banned), are 45-80$

Yea, but don't you have to give them your ID to trade stuff in and if someone buys the xbox you traded in and brings it back to them saying it's console banned. Can't they trace it back to you cuz they record it with the ID and make u have to give money back? (I'm only asking cuz i'm not really sure)

Well, there is a way to get another one from Walmart for free....and it goes a little something like this:

Go to Walmart, and buy a 360 with CASH, then you Take OFF the seal with a hair dryer so you can put it back on, then swap all the insides out, so you take the insides of the new one and put it in the old one. seal up your 360, put the sticker back on.

Then just bring it back to Walmart and get your money back.

I don't know if you can still do it, but i know a couple friends who did it.

At the gamestop here whenever you go to trade in a system (PS3, xbox) they hook it up to the internet to see if its in working order :/
