Basically i have an xbox 360 with the dashboard 8955 and the dvd drive is completely dead. Now i know i can't JTAG it, but can i dump the nand to obtain the DVD key?

I wanted to ask before i just went ahead and did it, i like soldering but i like my spare time even more, so anyone with a quick yes or no, anyone who's done it etc. Much appreciated

Only way to obtain the DVD key is via a decrypted nand (You can't do this because you have no way of obtaining your CPU key) or via pulling the key from the drive itself.

What kind of drive is it?

When i say completely dead, i mean it's non-existant lol

Then sorry to say you are SOL. Dvd key is in 2 places, the nand and on the drive itself. Even a dead drive's board can get it's key extracted.
