Dont you ever do those!!!!!!! I did it about a year ago and it said it would give me 1600 MS Points. Well guess what about 7 months later my account was hacked and it took another 8 months to get all of the stuff i bought on that account back because i had the red ring so i couldnt go to my download history.

because you can. you can get free microsoft points from microsoft-sponsored contests. the only problem with the free points is they have an expiration date. unlike points you pay for - which should never go away if you don't use them - free points have a set time limit before they are invalidated.
