Ok. So if you were like me and found that your new xbox slim was restricting you because you didnt have a hard drive, and you just didnt want to spend the money to buy a hard drive? Well. I had one of my old HDD's laying around, I cracked it open and removed the hard drive from inside, and guess what?! It fits right in the new xboxs. :megusta:
So here we go. What your going to need for this.
Xbox slim, old HDD, a t6 screwdriver, and a t10 screwdriver.
Now. I did this without the screwdrivers, but after I searched a bit, I realized how much easier it would have been with them.
So anyway lets start it up.

Step 1

First things first. Find your HDD and locate the four screws holding it together. (One is under a sticker that will void your HDD's warrenty) Unscrew these and remove the outer case (T6 screws)

Step 2

On the inside there will be another set of T10 screw that must come undone, once you do this you can remove the inner shell and find the hard drive component

Step 3

To be sure what you are looking at the hard drive, once side must be plugged into the HDD itself. Once you know you have found the hard drive, remove it.

Step 4

Take off the bottom plates of your new xbox slim (They are ment to come off for those of you who didnt know.) and find the spot where the new hard drives are meant to go (Big hole in the bottom of your xbox.)

Step 5

Look inside the new xbox's hard drive housing and notice there is a plug in the bottom that will fit perfectly into the hard drive you just removed from the HDD

Step 6

The step is optional, but may help make this easier.
Grab some tape and place it on the top of the hard drive you just extracted to help you lower it into the new xboxs housing.
(This is hard to visualize without pictures, but if you understand what I am saying go for it)

Step 7

Lower the extracted harddrive into the new xbox's housing and plug it into the bottom of the housing. You will know that it is plugged in because it will not wobble very freely around the housing. (Although it may move a bit when the xbox is tilted it will not freely wobble)

Step 8

Once you have finished this, put the panels back on the bottom of your xbox and enjoy your free hard drive :megusta:
