Ok guys heres what happened.
I had a one month free trial on my xbox 360 account with auto renewal ON and it was linked to my paypal account. I literally have 22 cents and a empty prepaid credit card linked to my paypal, but when the trial ran out i received an email confirming my new one month xbox live renewal but i did not get charged for it on my paypal account. So to me right now its looking like free xbox live. If anyone knows anything about this please let me know since i dont really know wtf is going to happen as far as microsoft with the billing. You must login or register to view this content.
sorry dont really know how to upload pics but the link should work
EDIT: This was on a dummy account just so i could use netflix and so on.
But i was never banned on the account all they did was email after about 3 weeks saying that payment was rejected or something like that lol.
So if you want to do this with a dummy account go ahead you will not get banned and will get a total of two free months of live. I did this on two accounts and nothing has happened so good luck.

this happened to me aswell i had about £2 left in my paypal brought a 3 month worth £15 and it worked..
but it may put your paypal balance negative at some point if you buy to much stuff with 0 monies
This happened to both me and a friend. We both had our renewal linked to credit cards that had recently been canceled. Basically, Microsoft gives you about a month (possibly a bit more) to get things sorted out. After that, your gold privileges will be revoked until you pay for the service again. When you renew, you will also have to pay for the amount of time that you were using gold "free of charge." (I did not get charged any extra for this, just my year of gold started on my original renewal date rather than when I actually re-purchased gold). It's nothing that can really be exploited to much extent, so there is really no point in wasting time doing this. I have a feeling that if the problem continually re-occurs, your account will be banned from the xbox live service. However, I have never heard anything about that actually happening. So, enjoy your "free" bit of live while it lasts. But I recommend just paying the small fee for gold .
