Ok this tutorial will explain an easy way to get any set of avatar gear for free that we know the ID for.


Things you need:
The new update
At least 80 MSP
Some kind of transfer kit


Ok lets get started. You first need to have bought at least 1 thing of clothing for your avatar. We will use this file as a base for all the others.


The location of your file will depend on what you bought. For example: If you bought a Monkey Island item then it will fall under that game ID folder. I will be using this game for my example.


You will find your gear in the 00009000 folder


Simply copy this file to your computer and rename it to the ID of the item you want. Simple as that.


Once you rename you put it back onto your HDD. Where you put all depends on the ID you chose. You cant change the ID and put it in the folder of the same game. So if you are trying to give yourself a free Monkey Island hat or something then you cant put that file back in the Monkey Island 00009000 folder. All this means is that you have to put the file into a 00009000 folder of a different game.


If you are like me and only bought 1 item then there is an easy way you can get around this. Odds are you have some empty folders on your HDD due to video downloads and what not. These are perfect for making them your "Free Stuff" folder. Just find some random empty folder that has another empty sub folder in it. Once you do just rename that subfolder to be a new 00009000 folder and you wont have any problem


Once the file is on your storage device just plug it in and see if the new gear works.


Ok, this thread is for posting the IDs for avatar gear so we can continue to get free stuff. I will start with what I got. In order to get the IDs yourself it is really simple, just post the name of the avatar gear file. You will find your avatar gear under 000000000000\[Game ID]\00009000\. I will post the tut later in the tut section obviously.


Should be obvious but the letter before the name stand for gender that can use it.

If we can find out the pattern to the IDs then we wont need to rely on people buying stuff and then sharing what they bought. This is what i have about it so far.

-First part is the item type. In this case 100 stands for glasses.

-Second part from my experience is the modifier that tells to be a certain item in the list for that Game ID

-Third I dont know. It was usually only a 0001,0002, or 0003 before the update.

-Fourth. No idea, this is the main one we need to figure out the pattern for.

-Fifth. Simple enough, it's the game id that the item belongs to.

free but you have to apply for them, or ring microsoft and say you got a 120gb hard drive and need to transfer your stuff to it and they will send you it.

So this basically means there is a way to get free maps then i guess because if you get the right id , the xbox should detect that you have downloaded the content(WHEN YOU HAVENT OBVS) the you just download it again from download history.
Somebody correct me if im wrong its just a suggestion
