I would like to jtag it but the only problem is when i put a game in the disc drive it doesnt read the game and says "open tray" even though there is a game in it. I was thinking about buying a new DVD drive all ready modded. But i dont know were to get one. If someone can help me it would be much appreciated.

Try searching eBay for one that is EXACTLY THE SAME, and then you could do the PCB board swap. Or you can get one that will work in your Xbox, and (I'm not sure on this, so check first) flash it with iXtreme and it should work without the DVD key from your old drive.

The disc reader might be dirty. That's the problem with mine.

A new DVD will not affect your Xbox 360 kernel. Also, disregard the last part of my last post, as it was inaccurate. If you got a whole new drive and don't swap then PCB, then you would need to change the DVD key on the new one to the DVD key on the old one.

ummmm you dont need the drive realy unless you want to read games lol you can run games you know that right from an external hard drive
