when i turn my xbox on & insert a disk it wont read. 2 get it 2 read i have 2 smack the side of it above where the disk drive is n i have 2 smack it 4 about half an hour while openin and closin it.

exactly wat it does:
i open the disk drive, insert my disk, close...it says readin (while i smack/tap on the side) if it dosent read then i open it, then close it and continue smackin the side until it reads.

does anybody kno how 2 fix this??

For one you should probs not treat your xbox like a whore that likes it rough but it might be a lense issue so maybe try cleaning it or getting a new diskdrive but if its still under warrenty send it back to microsoft

Yeah, try lens cleaner first. If that doesn't work phone up Microsoft and say you have the red rings if you have had your Xbox more than 1 year but less than 3. The warranty for disk drives and other hardware failure is only 1 year, but the Red rings are 3 year warranty. They can't tell if you had them when you sent the xbox or not. The then might replace the disk drive too. I'm pretty sure they have done with me before. If it doesn't fix the drive, phone them up and tell them you have a faulty disk drive then has just started happening AFTER you sent it off for repair and get them to fix it.
