it gets about half way through downloading it from xbox live then comes up with ' xbox live signup is currently unavailable please try again later.' :S

please could someone help?

The account your trying to recover, does it have a ban or any type of suspension? If it does then theres your problem

Mine did that so all i did was wait and about 2 hours later it let me recover it.

this never has happened to me before.

Sometimes that happens to me, but if I delete the profile off of my Xbox I can usually recover it.

I'm guessing to many people are trying to do it at once so as people have said just wait until a non peak time.

Maybe someone hacked you? Or try reseting your password on the website.
