Post: 360 Controller Mod Project. HELP/ADVISE ME!!!

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); My issue: I can't switch back and forth between 360 and PS3 without getting my butt kicked on one or the other system. I have tracked the issue down to the resistance in the joysticks. The 360 controller's joysticks are harder to move then the PS3 controller's joysticks.

What I want: The right-hand joysticks of my PS3 and 360 controllers to have as close as possible to the same resistance.

What I know: The 360/PS2 controllers use a 10k POT module for their joysticks. The PS3 controller uses a Hall sensor. A simple joystick module swap is not possible with my resources.

What I'm about to try: I'm going to start with the modules on my old PS2 controllers by taking them apart and taking parts of the springs out. There are 15 or so souder points to remove and clips on the bottom to bend open to get inside of them. I was going to start by taking some of the spring off then stretching it to original length. With enough trial and error on spring stiffness modification this should remedy my issue. Once I get it right I can either put one of the "prototypes" out of the PS2 controller into my 360 controller if it works good enough. Or, I can just do it to the 360 module.

Does anybody have any experience with this? Does anybody have a better solution to my problem?

Thanks.
