But off that bit now...

I have another xbox360 which has worked fine up intill now where it suddenly getting 3RROD after switching it off with a wired controller??
I then cleaned it up removing any gunk in it as I normally leave it without the top lid on.

I then switched on...no luck ... tryed again and it worked I then forgot my harddrive... plugged it in worked then i switched it off again moved it nearer to my ethernet cable which when i then tryed to switch on gave me 3RROD which it still currently has and the error code being 0020...
I need to fix it but I don't know what to do... I have heard about how pressure on the GPU/CPU may affect it...

But please help

The xbox 360 console can overheat easily, and after a while your motherboard will overheat and slowly bend. Once it has bended enough, it loses connection with other parts of the console causing them to not work so your console tells you 3RROD. If you keep with your console as it is you might have a day where they have a slight connection again and you can play or most likely the connection will stay lost. The only way to permanently fix it is either to

1) send it to microsoft and wait the month.

2)give it to a person in your area who knows how. There is a company near me that charged me $40 and took 30min to fix.

3) Do it yourself. If you search on the internet you can find tutorials on how to do it. You will have to buy new parts and probably new tools since the consoles need tools that are unique. It is also a very long and intricate process, and something can break easily. (I don't trust myself to do it)

I would suggest not trying things like the towel fix beacuse it only postpones the 3RROD for acouple days and it gan seriously damage your console even more so.

I don't have the warranty sticker anymore
I don't want to give it to a company because they may fix it and it will break again most likely.
I am trying to fix it myself :/ apparently due to the error code being 0020 it has something to do with the cpu and/or gpu but I don't know exactly what to do.

If the 3rrod is fixed properly, then it will not occur again. Here is a tutorial on how to fix it yourself.

I do not trust myself to do this, because the risk of breaking something is high. If you do not want to open the xbox up, or have some one else fix it, then there is no way to permanently fix your xbox. Like I said, the towel fix might get you a few extra days, but not mych.

Try searching on google maps for video game repair places in your area. That is what I did. I found one, called him, and brought it in. I watched how they fixed it and within an hour I was back to playing.
