I recently got an xbox slim 250gb one. I have a questions though, i bought 360 hd component cable off amazon so i can record with my pvr and use my px21 but when i plug the cable in the xbox the sound works through my headset but on the xbox when i click 720p or 1080i it doesnt think its hd it just goes back to 480 which is unplayable. I looked on seller page on amazon and it got very bad reviews but some good reviews. Is there something else i have to do or are the wires just dodgy?

do xbox hd component cables actually give hd picture quality on the new xbox slims or have i just bought bad ones

umh i think i don t really understand what are u asking, but i can suggest u to record in 720 p (to me it s the same of 1080p) and u can use ur headset throw the optic out and in

Have you changed the settings on your Xbox360 to HD (720 & 1080)?

Link me to the Amazon page if you would so I can check out the component cables. Just to tell if they are of quality or not. If they are outputting 480 though, then 720 should work.

I went on the xbox console settings, selected 720 and 1080i trying them both and soon as i select one it reverts back to 480

i got energizer component cables that have outputs for xbox 360 ps3 and wii and they work on my slim with my pvr. i used 1080i on it and it stayed plus i have my px 21's hooked up so i dont know what else it could be other than the cables not working

where did you buy the energizer cables :p im getting my xbox soon and i need the component cables for my pvr cuz the slim doesnt come with them :p
