If you're an Xbox 360 owner who took advantage of Microsoft's inaugural "Deal of the Week" to pick up a copy of Braid, you may soon find yourself with a few extra points. Don't celebrate too soon though, because you should have had those points a while ago.
In a message sent to those who were overcharged (via Kotaku), Microsoft apologized for what they called a technical glitch, saying, "As a result of the increased transactions we know that you experienced an intermittent Xbox Live issue, which resulted in you being charged full price of 1200 points ($14.99) for the Braid deal instead of the discounted price of 800 points ($10.00)."
"We will not only be crediting back the 400 points ($5.00) that were overcharged, but also be crediting an extra 100 ($1.25) points as a token of our appreciation and as a thank you for your loyalty during this period. You will see a credit of 500 points in your account in the coming weeks."
Braid was Microsoft first "Deal of the Week," which launched February 23. At the moment, there are quite a few games going for 400 MS Points on Xbox Live Arcade, including Geometry Wars. For those who don't want to hold off for a larger purchase, there should be plenty of ways to make good on Microsoft's apology.
