I've got an XLC if its that you cant hear anyone then you may not have your prefrences set correctly other than that im not sure (sometimes it doesn't work in black ops game chat)

one of the cords must be broken. Its probley the cord that plugs into controller cause i have trittons and turtlebeach and that was the problem for both of them when the broke. If you have warrenty use it or look for a new cord online

Sennheiser PC360 + Astro Mix amp is better than most of the usual sound set up for gaming.

I think that headset won't last longer and you'll be investing for much more expensive piece of equipment. I would recommend the Sennheiser PC360 + Astro Mix amp if you want to have the best sound you could get from your money.
