To prepare us for the new disc format aswell as reflashing all drives whether modded or unmodded to stock :evil: so your newly reflashed drive can play the latest disc format.
So if your drive is modded it will not play your backups,until you get it reflashed or wait and see what happens next.

I recently got my xbox Flashed, and don't wanna risk the update. If I unplug my ethernet cable, I should be able to play offline, without problems right?

yes, if you dont update you will stay on the lower dash and wont change your drive firmware so you can still play offline

no, its just flashing ALL dvd drives to a stock firmware so if it is flashed... it needs reflashing

not confirmed, but when you update it you will no longer have a flashed drive
