Electronic Arts chief operating officer John Pleasants confirmed that Battlefield 3 is in development. This information came through his presentation at William Blair Growth Stock Conference in Chicago. Earlier in February, EA had announced two Battlefield games Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
Swedish game development studio DICE has been working on both Battlefield games Battlefield 1943 and Bad Company 2 over the Frostbite game engine. The same game engine was used in development of first Bad Company game.
After Battlefield 2, Pleasants teases the gamers to get ready for Battlefield 3. Pleasants said, "I've had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE in Sweden and was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product. Of course, that's not [coming out] in the fiscal year, but that is a product that is looking very good.
One thing is for sure, that we ll get to see Battlefield 1943 and Bad Company 2 in this current fiscal year at least. Also, in the next fiscal year we ll get to see the Battlefield 3 and of course, with more multiplayer options.
Curious to see how it will go, can't wait for 1943 too 42 was a blast.
