The one thing I would LOVE to see added to the Elder Scrolls Series is the ability to play the game multiplayer. I'm not just talking about a terrible little co-op mode where someone can tag along on missions doing things that are pretty irrelevant, i'm talking about having a full blown world that is multiplayer compatible. (Not MMORPG, maybe limit the game to having 3 online players). The actual world and the items inside the game would be the same as single player, but players would have the ability to play it however they want. For example you and your friend might want to become notorious assassins doing quests together and getting rich etc, but you might want to play the game separate from the each other, just like playing single player but certain in game events bringing you together and then forcing you apart as you each create your own story within the game world.

E.g Quests might bring players to fight each other, for example, say 1 player was in the thieves guild and had been pulling off a lot of big robbery's, and another was in the legion, the game might bring these players together, with the player in the legion tasked with hunting you down and arresting you. That would make it very different to most other multiplayer RPGs, because it would be like playing the game in single player mode but with the multiplayer aspect of the guy hunting you down not being a NPC, but being a real player.

No doubt it would be a very complex game feature to design and getting it to work perfectly would be very difficult, but in the future it is an aspect I believe could take the elder scrolls series to a whole different level.
