(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); It is now possible to recover gamertags and save data across different Xbox 360s thanks to the arrival of the new cloud storage for the console.

The decision to go cloud based was announced by Microsoft at this years E3, which also saw a demonstration of the revamped Xbox 360 UI.

Currently the service only works with select Xbox Live Arcade games, which can be downloaded and saves resumed from any console. This means an end to transporting saves via hard-drives and memory units. It also allows you to easily grab gamertag details when you head round to a friends for a gaming sesh on their console. Microsoft points, friends and achievements are now also stored up in the cloud.

Expect the cloud service to hit the Xbox 360 lineup in its entirety when Microsoft releases the UI update.
