They've had that price for a few months now. They're trying to kill their stock of the older consoles to go full-time with the slims.

Is the slim worth it? I'd say yes, if you can get one used from say eBay. It's a much smoother experience when it comes to noise, cleanliness and overheating. If you can find one for the right price, it is worth it.
