Whenever he uploads pictures, I go down to a 1 bar, and have a huge delay. For instance, in call of duty, i'll press rt, and then a second later, it shoots in the game. Is there any way to fix this without really messing up his connections?

Do you know whether or not your connection is DSL, Cable, or Fibre? Also, do you know what download and upload speed you get? This can be found from doing a test on Speedtest.net. If your connection speed is already low, both of you using it at the same time will bring it to a crawl. Also, have you both tried connecting via Ethernet?

Based on the Speedtest, it looks like there are no issues with your connection speed. You do have an Open NAT type, right? Does this normally happen at a certain time of day or is it whenever your father uploads his photos? If it occurs at a specific time, it is most likely the Internet Provider having capacity issues. If not, my guess is that the photos are large in size and taking up all the available bandwidth. My suggestions for that would be to ask your father to upload via Ethernet (if he isn't already) and if the problem still occurs, to take a Speedtest when you have the 1 bar while he is uploading so we can see what's up.

Ok, I just had him plug an ethernet cable into his computer, next time he's uploading and I'm playing, I'll let you know what happens.

Unfortunately, that's the issue. When your father uploads the photos, it takes up all of the network bandwidth as you can see in the test. I'm not extremely familiar with routers but I believe there is a setting on routers that could restrict the amount of bandwidth a device uses (In this case, your father's computer). However, I'm not too sure.

You will most likely want to contact your ISP, Cox, and explain that your father's computer is taking all the available network bandwidth when uploading photos and making it so that you cannot play online. They will most likely be able to tell you how to adjust it or they might even be able to adjust it remotely.

^^ If your father is okay with it get him to download a program onto his computer called "NetLimiter". Whenever he's uploading his photos(in Chrome, for example) he could specifically limit the max speed to say 1MB/s(up and/or down) and thus your gaming wouldn't be affected :bro:

Alright, I might try that program, I dont really wanna call the provider and stuff and get too in depth.
