So far i have a active gold membership via credit card , i want to remove the card but it says that i cant remove because i need to have a payment option on , so if i add a prepaid membership would that work to then remove the credit card ? .

i also had this problem the only way to do it is ether add another card or call Microsoft and them them to remove it

you HAVE to call microsoft they will remove your credit card and they will send you tokens for any left months of xbl

I just changed the expiration date on mine so it was already expired and it stopped using it.

Yep, wouldnt renew due to expired credit card. Wasnt till later i found out about calling them to get it removed. This was easier tho, fixed the date when i wanted to use it again.
