Resident Evil 6 Announced!

Looks like Resident Evil fans are going to get a fresh taste of zombies coming their
way with the announcement and trailer reveal of Resident Evil 6.



From what is seen the trailer, the main protagonists making a return in this installment will be our loved
hero's Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield, who will be continuing to fight against the outbreak that has caused
countless amounts of innocents to turn into flesh-hungry zombies.

Some locations that have been seen in the trailer are very urban areas (one example being an area that
resembles a Chinatown) including skyscrapers and office buildings which lead Chris Redfield fighting against
his opponents in the streets that dwell below them. While our hero Leon looks as if he is fighting in a deserted
town that looks as if it were Raccoon City reborn. *EDIT* The location that Leon is fighting in is called "Tall Oaks".
A city that closely resembles the post-apocalyptic scenery of Raccoon City after the outbreak of the virus.

Another surprise is a currently unknown playable character who doesn't seem to utilize weaponry, but instead excels
in CQC (close quarter combat) and melee attacks. With a new character, the game looks as if mechanics have been
re-worked including a new cover system that can be seen in the trailer as well as some evade moves that look to be
extremely effective in dodging enemies. However, the over-the-shoulder camera style makes a return to the game, which is something
that some like and others dislike. In all, I am completely stoked about this game and from the trailer, it looks great!
Hopefully this installment of Resident Evil will resurrect the franchise and bring it closer to its roots.

*EDIT* There are four confirmed playable characters! The two we know, Leon and Chris, the man who uses CQC combat,
as well as a brand new female protagonist, Helena Harper. Capcom says that Helena was a part of the security detail for the
president before the whole incident occured. It is believed she will be heavily involved as one can hear her guilty chatter
in the opening sequence of the video. Personally I think it's great their adding two new characters who hopefully will bring
something new to the table in terms of tactics.

In that article above Capcom also revealed the name of the grotesque "boss"/enemy
that viewers can see characters running from in the trailer.

The enemy pictured above is simply known as the "Javo".
The executives were quoted saying

my friend mentioned Ada Wong is playable too.

Btw, sorry, but no info on Ada being a playable character. Let's keep
our fingers crossed though because I've always been a fan of Ada.
Maybe she'll make an appearance like she did in RE4 being involved in the side missions.
