It is being developed by 2K Czech, previously known as Illusion Softworks, and will be published by 2K Games. Mafia 2 was announced in August 2007 at the Leipzig Games Convention. The game will be set in the 1940s and ’50s in Empire Bay, a fictional city based on San Francisco and New York City.[6] The name is a reference to New York’s state nickname “The Empire State”. Mafia 2 will be available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. It is currently due to be released “early in 2010″.
