Im new to the website and not trying to bump this thread or anything but I also can fix the RROD.

I did my own over a month ago and never had a problem since. I just did a buddy's as well and no problems with his Happy. Im out in Cali (805 area) if anyone out here needs a RROD fixed. Shoot me a message on here or on live. I work 14 hrs a day so im a bit busy but on my days off im usually on live.
If i do fix your xbox of course it will void Microsoft's warranty BUT I will insure that IF for some reason it does red ring on you I will fix it again for free. If i cant fix it for whatever reason then I will refund any money that was paid to me from you. ( basically Im not going to promise I can fix any problems but so far im 2 for 2 Happy ) Im no 360 genius lol but I do know what im doing.
In the future I will be getting onto case modding, cooling mods, ETC... I will post after I do the mods to my own box first Smile

Look forward to being a part of this site and meeting new people as well. I mainly play halo3, RSV2 and i even go back to Halo2 now and then to play swat lol

I have been waiting on a repair box for 2 weeks now and I have yet to receive it. Is there any way to track the repair box? All xbox can tell me is that it has been shipped supposedly.

Go on the UPS website odds are they shipped it, if so then you should have got a tracking number in which case type it in and it'll tell you where it is.

In regards to the original question. There is no point trying anything just send it off and wait 2 weeks, you'll end up doing more damage if you do it yourself and it will void the warranty. Also im sure you can live without it for 2 weeks ^^. Seriously all techniques out there are only temporary and after sometime your xbox will just break.

Basically send it off while you still can! its free. Also you get 5 years extra warranty once you've sent it off and when it comes back you often get a month free on xbl.

Well, that didn't solve my problem, but what did was when I went onto Xbox.com and canceled my previous repair order and re-done the form and sent another repair order, and within a day I received a email from UPS stating a tracking number for the box. I never received an email with the last repair order from UPS. So now I just need to wait a couple of days for the box and then 2-3 weeks for the xbox to be back home. Total time estimated without xbox: 2 months. SON OF A *****
